Naturspa Forest Lagoon

Forest Lagoon - glass for a luxurious nature spa in Iceland.

Iceland is known for its many attractive wellness offerings, which are popular among tourists from around the world, and now a brand-new addition, Forest Lagoon, has opened. The 1,300-square-metre complex is located in a scenic setting, built into the cliffs near the town of Akureyri, which is about a five-hour drive or 45-minute flight north of Reykjavik. The surroundings presented specific demands for architecture and materials – including glass, which was supplied by Glaseksperten.

The glass in the bathing area, an essential part of the nature spa, had to blend with the surroundings, which is why Glaseksperten was chosen, as they could deliver the required quality. The solution ended up being custom-made grey Metalux glass for screening in the bathing area.

“It’s frosted glass, but of a very fine quality. The glass is available in various colours and has a surface that makes it more beautiful than standard frosted glass. The colour was designed to match the cliffs where Forest Lagoon is situated, and this has been achieved very successfully.”
