Medicon Village in Lund
400-square-metre fire-rated glass for Scandinavias largest Science Park
In the Swedish city of Lund lies Scandinavia's largest Science Park, Medicon Village. Here, businesses can rent space in the open Business-to-Business building called The Spark. It is an attractive environment where companies work alongside others involved in or supporting life sciences.
During the renovation of Medicon Village, great emphasis was placed on acoustics and lighting. Suspended ceilings were raised, ventilation was adjusted, and walls were removed to create a modern workplace. On all floors with workspaces, light walls and textile flooring in beautiful shades of blue and grey are arranged in different colour fields, creating uniformity between the floors and contributing positively to the acoustic environment. Each floor and part of the building features a convenience store, as well as smaller meeting rooms and quiet rooms connected to the workspaces.
For the project, we have supplied internal fire-rated glass walls with two different fire ratings – Pyrobel® 25 Vision Line EI60 and Pyrobel® 16 Vision Line EI30. The glass is assembled in a transparent, sealed solution, providing a light and elegant appearance. This makes it the perfect choice for full glass partitions that offer maximum light transparency and high sound insulation.
Additionally, we have supplied full glass walls made from heat-strengthened and toughened glass.
