H.C. Andersen Hus

World-class architecture

H.C. Andersen is one of the most famous and widely read authors, appealing to us all, not just in Denmark but globally. He is beloved for his adventurous universe, which now also forms the foundation for a groundbreaking museum.

The new H.C. Andersen House is designed by the Japanese star architect Kengo Kuma, covering an area of 5,600 square metres. The museum includes a fairy tale house, a children's house, and an underground museum that blends seamlessly with the surrounding magical garden, featuring curved hedges of varying heights, bushes, trees, and flowers.

The museum is conceived as a unified artistic experience combining landscape, architecture, and cutting-edge exhibition design, offering new perspectives on the beloved and world-renowned author. The house affirms that H.C. Andersen's thoughts and fairy tales are as vibrant and relevant today as they were in the 19th century when they were created.

For the project, we have produced external glass balustrades in toughened laminated glass with a clear interlayer for the magical garden, as well as full glass walls up to 3,650 mm high, both with and without acoustic glass, for the children's universe of Ville Vau.
