Facade glass for ​Frederikssund swimming pool

The swimming pool will be the first building constructed in Frederikssund Sports City. Spanning approximately 3,500 m², it features a 25x25 m pool with ten lanes. Additionally, it includes a children’s and practice pool, a children’s and wellness pool, and a counter-current pool for technical training and rehabilitation.

The swimming pool’s architecture is both simple and sculptural. The building will feature a large, floating roof and will make optimal use of the sloping terrain, blending naturally into the landscape with its copper-colored facades and expansive glass surfaces.

The design aims to merge indoor and outdoor spaces. This is achieved through large glass panels extending from ceiling to ground level and an internal promenade deck in the pool area that follows the natural slope of the terrain. Viewed especially from the lower terrain to the northwest, the expansive glass areas provide a full view of activities inside the pool, while offering an unobstructed view of the landscape and sky from within.

For this project, we have produced and supplied solar control façade glass as well as an internal fire-rated glass solution for the viewing balcony.
