Sun-shielded glass can significantly improve the indoor climate in office buildings, private homes, and public buildings. Large windows and glass panels are attractive and allow ample daylight into the building. However, sunlight also brings heat, but with sun shielded units, optimal conditions can still be acheived behind the windows.

What does the Building Regulations say? 

Here is an excerpt from the building regulation's technical provisions regarding thermal indoor climate and installations for heating and cooling systems (§ 385 - § 392):

For buildings other than residential properties, the building owner specifies the maximum number of hours per year during which an indoor temperature (operative temperature) exceeding 26 °C and 27 °C may occur.
